the soft texture and nutty flavor of quinoa makes this burger a must
Ingredients:
- 1 cup quinoa
- 2 cups water
- 1 clove of garlic, pressed
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup nature soya yogurt
- ½ tsp seasoned salt (style Herbamare or sel-o-plantes)
- 1 cup puffed rice cereal ou puffed millet
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Preparation:
1. Cook quinoa. Bring water to boil, add quinoa. Bring to boil again, reduce heat to medium, cover and cook 12 minutes. Remove from heat, separating the grains with a fork, cover and let stand for about 15 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, in bowl, mix mayonnaise, yogurt, garlic, salt and beaten egg. Add the quinoa mixture and breadcrumbs mayonnaise sandwich. The final mixture should have a texture similar to ground beef.
3. Shape into 8 flat patties. Cook on stove or oven to 350°F for about 20 minutes. Serve in a hamburger bun with condiments of your choice.
So good when topped with grilled mushrooms and Swiss cheese!
